Frequently Asked Questions

Sourdough Everything Loaf

How Do I order

Made on Magnolia Micro Bakery accepts pre-orders only, meaning that I am baking sourdough just for you!

Fresh loaves are baked and offered for pickup on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday from 12:00pm-6:00pm and by appointment.

*Pre-order opens at 10AM Sundays for pickup that week.

Why can't I just order on the day I want some bread (Why do I have to pre-order?)

The reason I ask for your orders by the Sunday preceding pickup is that the process of making sourdough bread takes anywhere from 1-3 days. It begins with feeding the wild yeast cultivated in the sourdough starter with flour and water over several days so that it’s active and bubbly and ready to leaven the bread. Once the dough is mixed, it undergoes a fermentation period followed by a longer refrigerated cold-proofing stage. We bake fresh the day you pick up.

How do pick-ups work?

On the appointed day of your pickup, your sourdough bread(s) will be bagged and ready to pickup. Your order with be place in a bag with you name tag attached. Orders must be picked up on the appointed day and time, or the the bread will be donated.

Do you Deliver?

Only locally! Message me so we can figure out a minimal delivery fee!

How do I keep my sourdough fresh?

Sourdough will stale fast in the refrigerator, so don’t store it there–even the breads with “inclusions”, or added ingredients like chocolate chips. Because it’s fermented, it won’t spoil/mold quickly like regular bread and will keep for days at room temperature. The crust likes to breathe.

What is a "Cottage Food Operation" (CFO)?

We are a home processor specializing in artisanal, small-batch breads. Every loaf is carefully prepared in a domestic kitchen to ensure the highest quality and a truly homemade flavor.  For more information visit the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services.
